Question 1

How much does window replacement cost in San Francisco?

Accepted Answer

Window replacement in San Francisco typically runs from $600 to $1,800 per window depending on size, frame material, and glass package. A typical three-bedroom home replacing eight to twelve windows falls between $5,000 and $15,000 before any structural work. Door replacement runs $1,200 to $4,000 for a standard entry door, and more for custom sizes or security-rated units. The only way to get a real number is a measurement and a written quote. Question 2

Do you pull permits for window replacement?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Where the local building department requires a permit, our team handles the application and schedules the inspection. San Francisco, Oakland, and most cities in the Bay Area require permits for window replacement when the opening size changes or when structural framing is modified. We do it by the book the first time, so the permit and the final inspection are part of the job, not an afterthought. Call (831) 273-7126 if you want specifics for your city.

Question 3

Will the price change once work starts?

Accepted Answer

No. The price we hand you in writing before work begins is the price you pay, unless you ask to change the scope. That's the Garrison Standard, and it applies to every window and door job we take in San Francisco and the surrounding cities. If we find hidden damage during install, we stop, show you, and give you a written price for the additional work before we touch it. Call (831) 273-7126 for a free estimate.

Question 4

How long does a window installation take?

Accepted Answer

Most single-window replacements take one to two hours from tear-out to trim. A full-house job of eight to twelve windows usually takes two to three days. Door replacements run half a day to a full day depending on the frame condition. We give you a window of arrival before the job and we show up inside that window. Call (831) 273-7126 and we'll give you an honest timeline for your specific project.

Question 5

What does the one-year guarantee cover?

Accepted Answer

Our one-year written guarantee covers the workmanship and the installed product. If a window sticks, a seal fails, or a door drifts out of alignment within the first year, we come back and make it right at no charge. That's the full-year guarantee that comes with every install. Call (831) 273-7126 if you have questions about coverage on a specific product line.
